Can Art Impact our Future?
Lost in the Woods
24 x 36 x 1.5
Acrylic Mixed Media on Canvas
I recently installed a reproduction of the original shown above, Lost in the Woods, in a children's play room. I doubled the size so that it fills the room with color and joy. I think it's perfect for a space where kids are so immersed in their imaginations. I'm excited to share it with other little ones growing up in a world where forests are becoming an endangered species. If my art can inspire children's curiousity and reverence for nature I'll feel I've succeeded in its mission; to in some small way positively serve life on our planet.
I believe strongly in eco-literacy, prioritzing sustainability awareness in a child's education, so much so that I've been running a program based on it in my small town in Mexico for the past 8 years. Children are our future. If they learn to value nature, we all win!
