This is both an organically textured and "washy" piece inspired by long morning and evening walks on my mostly deserted beach on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. Lazy full body floats in the tide pools to the north and south of my home, and gorgeous sunset explosions that take my breath away each day find their way on to the canvas. I dance between fascination with the craggy rocks and the womb like experience of being cradled by the warm ocean. Disappearing into the wild and sensual sunsets finds expression in the ebb and flow of the textures and washes.

Materials: I use acrylic paints and inks for the washes and organic materials to achieve the stone like textures. I do alot of blending on the piece itself. I blend both impasto (viscous paint) and washes to achieve the washy natural effects. Painted on primed stretched canvas

Sides: the paint continues onto the edge but they are mostly white on this piece.
